Donor Client Service Representative

Position Objective:

Assists Lead Blood Donor Center Recruiter in meeting the blood donation program’s overall recruitment efforts in accordance with program’s standards and goals.

Essential Job Duties:

1. Assists Donor Room staff with efficient flow of donors through the donation process.
2. Establishes donor suitability according to regulatory, facility, and laboratory guidelines and protocols.
3. Receives and processes routine telephone requests or inquiries and follows through to resolution.
4. Assists the Blood Donor Center Recruitment Coordinator with the recognition program for donors, civic groups, and other businesses supporting the Donor Center.
5. Schedules donors to best meet the needs of the donor in alignment with the strategic goals of the organization. Pulls recruitment lists based on Donor Center and mobile schedule and aligns with inventory needs.
6. Assists Blood Donor Center Lead Recruiter with recruiting donors by a variety of media to include phone, email, letters, and social media.
7. Espouses the principals of Lean Thinking and creates a work environment that positively promotes continuous process improvement. Explores opportunities to add value to job (innovative ideas) to benefit the organization and taking ownership of the outcome. Proactively finds other work-related tasks during low census.
8. Actively participate in the laboratory quality plan/program (ex. investigative reports, notification of delays, etc.).
9. Participate in the training of new staff and volunteers by serving as a mentor and technical resource.
10. Enhances the laboratory and hospital reputation by demonstrating a courteous and professional demeanor during all encounters.

Educational/Experience Requirements:

• Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or university
• One year of experience recruiting for a blood donor center.

Required License/Certifications: 

• Current valid driver’s license & insurance.

There is a reasonable expectation that employees in this position will be exposed to blood-borne pathogens.
